Zoey Lily - Last Goodbye

Following the release of her previous single, "More", which was released back in February and quickly garnered the support of a handful of tastemaking music blogs, 20-year-old Hackney-based singer/songwriter Zoey Lily (née Zoe Lily Lewis) is back again today with her poignant pop masterpiece called "Last Goodbye".

This song immediately taps into the heart with the opening line "You better leave cuz I'm just gonna stand here, I'm not the type who'd beg you to stay", unfolding Zoey's delicate vocals at its rawest. Instinctive wordsmith Zoey Lily tells the story of rather letting someone go than staying close enough to keep getting hurt. Complementing the vulnerable feeling of Zoey's vocals, the track opts for ambient piano, with electronic elements and big distant drum beats alternating with male shouts, creating a dark atmosphere that is both intimate and anthemic. The longer you listen the more you fall into the inevitable darkness which culminates in the closing line "somebody other will be better than me".

Speaking on the track, Zoey says:

"It's hard if it suddenly doesn’t matter anymore what you think and how you're feeling, but people are complicated and things change and sometimes it’s easiest to cut someone off completely even if the last thing you want to do is say 'goodbye'".
